Csontváry Museum

Csontváry Museum makes room for the paintings of Tivadar Csontváry-Kosztka (1853-1919).
The exhibition was opened in 1973 in Pécs. It was the 120th anniversary of Tivadar Csontváry-Kosztka’s birth, who was one of the most particular artists in Hungary. This was a special occasion in the Hungarian museum history, as well. You can admire his most famous painting, the „Magányos Cédrus” (the „Lonely Cedar”) here. Csontváry painted it as a symbolic portrayal of himself.
