Early Christian Burial Vaults

The Early Christian Burial Vault of Pécs is an archeological „showroom” in the north-western part of the city centre, near the Cathedral.
This is a necropolis which has been existing since the 4th century, when the inhabitants were buried here.
This group of archeological findings has a universal significance, thereby taking a special place among the archeological relics of Hungary.
UNESCO declared it part of the World Heritage on 30th November, 2000.
