Cathedral

The origin of the Cathedral dates back to the era of the Roman Empire too. The walls of the crypt were built in the end of the 4th century, and it was enlarged in the 8th and 9th centuries in western direction. The original church become crypt during the reign of king St. Istvan, because the Cathedral has been built to it. It seems that the two western church towers have also been originating from this era. However, in the middle ages two more towers were built. Chapels were created in the Gothic ages.
